Gather the whole clan under one sky

At Sandby Relax & Recharge you get the chance to unwind and recharge your batteries — together. The farm sits in Sandby near Löttorp on Northern Öland, less than two kilometres from the beautiful sandy beach at Sandbybadet.

Grandma and grandpa settle comfortably into the Cottage while children, grandchildren and cousins spread out across the Big House's four bedrooms. You cook dinner together in the big kitchen, eat out on the deck, and end the evening in front of the soapstone stove. The caravan or motorhome? Park it on the farm's camper pitch.

You can also charge your electric car on the farm during your stay — making your holiday both sustainable and convenient.

The Big House — for the big party

220 m² with 14 beds across four bedrooms and a sleeping alcove. A large living room with soapstone stove, sofas and armchairs — plus room for extra beds when the cousin count grows. Big dining hall with kitchen and plenty of seating, cloakroom, and three bathrooms of which two have showers.

The Cottage — just right for the small family

A beautifully winterised 40 m² cottage with four comfortable spring beds and a new sofa bed for two. Open-plan kitchen and living room, a large fully tiled bathroom with shower and toilet — and a spacious veranda with outdoor furniture and barbecue.

The farm has pitches for motorhomes and caravans — with or without facilities. Perfect when the extended family doesn't quite fit under one roof, or when you want both the farm community and your own freedom.

The event venue — parties, weddings, big Christmases

Time for a party, kick-off or wedding? Maybe a big family Christmas? In our venue, the Tulikivi soapstone stove and comfortable lounge seating create a warm atmosphere, and the stage with PA system easily handles both a troubadour and a small band. The two equal-sized halls total 220 m².

A conference room of about 100 m² seating 50 people. Blackout curtains, projector, lectern and sound system give you the best conditions for a successful talk — and during the break, a large deck with outdoor furniture and barbecue awaits.

Northern Öland offers Sweden's most generous helping of sunshine hours — and around the farm await sandy beaches, the enchanted Troll Forest, limestone sea stacks and lighthouses. Neither the kids nor the grown-ups will run out of things to do.

ICA supermarket with pharmacy agent and ATM, delicatessen, clothing and interior shops. Restaurants such as Kalk and Lammet & Grisen, plus the Systembolaget summer shop.

Getting around

Bus stop about 900 metres from the farm — Silverlinjen and Kalmar county buses stop at Högbystoppet. Let us know when you arrive and we'll pick you up.

Sandbyvägen 13, Löttorp

The farm is in Sandby on Northern Öland, just south of Löttorp — open in Google Maps.

By car from the Öland bridge

Follow road 136 north past Borgholm and Köpingsvik — straight through the roundabouts. In Högby: straight through the roundabout, then turn left towards Sandby after a few hundred metres. The farm is on the left side of Sandbyvägen.

By ferry via Byxelkrok

In summer the ferry runs Oskarshamn–Byxelkrok (book a car space well in advance). Drive south on road 136 for about 17 km, turn right towards Sandby. You're there after a few hundred metres.

🚌

By bus

The bus stops at the OKQ8 petrol station at Högbystoppet. Let us know your arrival in advance and we'll pick you up. Timetables: silverlinjen.se and klt.se.

About us

Karina, Henrik & Max the standard poodle

In spring 2022, my partner Henrik and I made the big decision to leave Tierp and head for a warmer climate close to the sea. After a careful search across southern Sweden, we fell for a charming farm on Northern Öland — the place with Sweden's most generous helping of sunshine hours and long sandy beaches within walking distance.

We moved in during the Harvest Festival on the last day of September 2022, and since then I've been running Sandby Relax & Recharge AB here on the farm. In summer 2023, our standard poodle Max joined the family — he's always happy to greet the guests.
